Frequently Asked Questions
How do I calculate a discount?
Multiply the original price by the discount percentage divided by 100, then subtract from the original price.
How do I calculate the original price from a sale price?
Original = Sale Price / (1 - Discount%). Example: $60 at 25% off → $60 / 0.75 = $80.
Is it better to get a percentage off or a fixed amount off?
Compare the actual savings. 20% off a $100 item saves $20. A $25 coupon saves more in this case.
How do stacked discounts work?
Apply them sequentially, not additively. 20% off then 10% off is not 30% off. It's: $100 → $80 → $72 (28% total).
Is the discount applied before or after tax?
Discounts are applied before tax. Sales tax is calculated on the discounted price, not the original price.
